It is always good to support your child or young at home with their learning, all of these activities are good at any time and compliment and support the work done in school.

Communication is fundamental to developing learning and speech and language. Any opportunities to talk, discuss and commentate on observations throughout activities and the environment really supports children and young people to develop their language and vocabulary, so do use any opportunities possible for language and discussion.

We always recommend reading and sharing books at any time, the more often the better and if possible, daily. Book sharing activity with family not only supports learning but also provides an opportunity to bond and enjoy time together.

Reading is not only about reading books, there are lots of opportunities to explore words and decoding through the environment, this could be signs and adverts, packaging and any other words throughout the physical environment both in and out of the home.
